Deliberate doubling of lines, like pentimento, suggests motion. Totally-released intuitive flourishes - split-second lines - bring the figure alive. Also I use saturation rather than warmth for the advancing lines, so a brilliant blue line can successfully come forward.

What people speak it only tells us what going on in their intellect just now. To understand who they really are we look at posture, gestures and expressions. Non-verbal communication is closer to existence itself. What do you understand about the person in this picture? Can’t you see much of her life experience?
